Form 1098 and 1099 Information
Form 1099's for 2009 (interest earned on your share/savings, checking and certificate of deposit accounts) have been mailed, to those members whose total interest earned was $10.00 or more. You will not receive a 1099 if your interest earned was less than $10.00.
If you have a mortgage with us, you will (also) receive a Form 1098 (total interest paid in 2009) if the total interest paid was was more than $600.00.
If you itemize and your total interest paid was less than $600.00, please look at your December 31 quarterly statement, (previously sent to you) to find the total interest paid for the year.

Tough Times Savings Tips
For many people, setting aside funds is never easy. So when times are tough, it may seem almost impossible to save. But instead of adding to your credit card debt for the things you want or need, try saving for them instead. Here are three tips to get you started:
1. Use payroll deduction or automatic transfer to set aside money every month. It's true: what you don't see, you won't miss. You may be surprised how quickly even small amounts add up.
2. Save your change. Empty your pockets every day into a small jar or basket. You'll be amazed how quickly small change can add up!
3. Give up an expensive habit, like smoking cigarettes or drinking lattes. Earmark the money saved for a special treat, such as a vacation trip or a new wardrobe; save your funds in a special account at the credit union until you've reached your goal. Then start again for something new.

You are eligible to join if any of the following pertain to you:
- a person of Latvian descent, who is a member of an acknowledged religious organization/church and their immediate families
- a member or employee of the American Latvian Association
- a past member of the Latvian Cleveland Credit Union or Latvian Church Credit Union, who has terminated their membership and wishes to reinstate his/her membership to the credit union
- a member of the Estonian Evangelical Church of Cleveland
